Hair Rut.

I can't seem to stop yawning today! I'm being such a lazy girl... If only work had a napping area. What a great way to spend a lunch break! Maybe I should start a petition... hmmm.

Anyhoo, I appear to be in a hair rut. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the last hair cut I got. Finding a new stylist sucks after going to someone who knows what your hair can and can't do forever. If I don't end up going to Montreal this weekend with J (as is the plan.. but who knows with his work schedule!) I may find a random spa and take another stab at a perm as I previously mentionned. I mean... how hard is it to screw that up? It just kind of flounces around when it's done.... and it sure beats braiding wet hair a couple nights a week.

a *meh* kinda outfit

This outfit photo was actually taken before the last one, hence the childish drawings still on my door... I finally covered them last weekend as I find my background incredibly distracting and I live in a neighborhood with too many nosy people to brave outside photoshoots. I know, I'm a huge wuss.
I seriously debated on posting this outfit. Looking back I'm not really a fan, but I figured hey, why not? This blog is to chronicle, the good, the bad AND the ugly. I don't like the way the lining and the top look together, and overall its kind of a bore.. but meh. I DO get to showcase my fab Moos Shoes yet again.

Feeling Better

I know, I’ve been MIA for a while. I spent my long weekend feeling icky with a sore throat and an over tired body. Needless to say I spent most of it sleeping… with a surprise 50th birthday party for my aunt thrown in, which I unfortunately bailed on kind of early and didn’t even get cake. That at least was made up for Sunday night when my father and I celebrated (belatedly) our birthdays at his place. His is the day after mine, wasn’t I a lovely birthday present? Lol.
Anyways, this week I’m back at work and have a mountain of catching up to do. My inbox was literally overflowing all over my desk. Its good times, let me tell you. But unfortunately this leaves little to no time to peruse blogs while I should be working, and by the time I get home all I want to do is nap. So I thought I’d pop in for a quick little update on my lunch break. See? That’s how much I miss you all!

Corporate Cardi

I think I may be coming down with something :( I have he chills and my body is super tired and achey. It's not a good thing considering its the beginning of the month and my work load is INSANE, but sometimes its better to take a half day to yourself to recouperate than to struggle for the rest of the week! On the bright side, I get to catch up on my blog reading :)

These pictures are from earlier in the week, hence the non-death look.

Tonight, I'm Cleaning Out My Closet

So I kind of think I have a slight shopping addiction. Last night (in a moment my type A personality decided to shine) I started categorizing and creating a list of all the items in my closet that I wear on a regular basis with details on where the item's from, its cost, and when it was purchased. While I do have quite a few items that are older that are still well loved (mostly structured pieces like blazers, vests, & pants and good quality knits) I realized that #1, I have a lot of crap, and #2, I have a lot of RECENTLY PURCHASED crap. The list of Summer 2010 purchases was ridiculously long. I half attribute this to the fact that I'm out of school and making money, so I feel that I can spend more on myself, but mostly it's my inability to avoid a deal.

What I did notice however, is that my well loved pieces that have lasted through the years were rarely ever impulse buys, sale items, or trendy pieces. This has really made me rethink my shopping strategies. I've decided that in order for me to buy something new it has to be somethign that I've wanted for a while, is well made, and goes with my relatively classic style. Sure, I'll still end up with a few impulsive trendy items, but I won't purchase anything I feel that I will grow out of style wise unless it's a good price.
