Feeling "Blah"

Just popping in to say I'll be MIA for a while.
To keep a long story short, I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and depression when I was 14, and while I'm generally good at controlling my panic attacks, about once a year I have a full on melt down.
I'm currently in the midst of one now, and they usually last a week or two.
I haven't disappeared, I just need some "me" time.

If anyone has had similar experiences and knows of coping mechanisms & what not, I'd love to hear them.

  1. Awww, Mel, sending lots of good vibes your way. My husband is still trying to encourage me to the doctors with my anxiety issues (unfortunately doctors are one of my major triggers).

Enjoy your you time. My best suggestions are focusing on short term goals, trying to understand what individually causes anxiety and find ways to reduce it. I know easier said than done, but that's my method.

  2. I hope all goes well...and I hope you have a great trip to the Dominican!
I don't know if you read the blog Le Quaintrelle....but she's wrote a few posts about her struggle with an anxiety disorder. I wish I could get you the links...but I'm just on my phone.

  3. Although I'm less familiar with anxiety, a really excellent way of helping with depression is exercise - the endorphins really really help.

I hope that things improve for you soon!
