I feel a little like Audrey Hepburn... but it may just be the turtleneck.

Day 3 brought about a whole bunch of unworn pieces! And I got so many compliments :) This cardigan was bought and worn maybe once or twice, don't ask why. The blouse used to be a go-to for dancing with some blinging jewelery, but once I realised how gigantic it made my chest look, I stopped wearing it. The skirt was a purchase a couple months back and never made it into my rotation for some reason.
It's amazing what a little bit of red will do to brighten someone's day!

Cropped Vesty Goodness

No fancy, long winded stories today, just some pictures! Today I'm showcasing this lovely cropped knit vest. The proportions are kind of odd, and my boobies are kind of large and it has no closures, so I never think to wear it. That and it serves no real purpose except to be a decorative layering piece. But it's cute, so I can never bring myself to give it away!

tee - Dynamite (2007)
pants - Gap (2010)
wedges - Aldo (2010)
necklace - Spring (2010)

And lookie what came in the mail today!
Are they keepers?
I dunno... I think i ordered them a size too big and they don't carry them in stores to test them out. Pro? Real leather and super cute! Con? $150, and kind of slouchy... is anyone else seeing the bunching in the leather or is that just my critical eye?

And it begins!

So today is the first day of my Challenge! The first item I'm remixing is this tank top. I bought it AGES ago when I decided I wanted to girly-up my image. I used to skateboard a bit in high school and my style really reflected that - baggy jeans, tees with clever sayings, skate shoes - but about half way through college, and long after I'd given up my board, I decided I wanted to branch out and give the feminine thing a try. It was still a long time before I became partial to skirts, but this dressy tank was a good starting point. It's a black silky material and has gold and silver big embroidered flowers all over it. (I now wish I had a better picture, but perhaps I'll update this post later.)
It's been unworn for the LONGEST time because while I still like looking feminine, I hated the cut. It always showed way too much boobage and has a bubble hem... which kinda makes me look chubs. So to remix & remedy I added another tank underneath and tucked it into a high waisted skirt to get rid of the bubbling.

Sunday's my Fun-Day, My I Don't Have to Run-Day

Posting the last few outfits before I begin my Challenge...
Not gonna lie, I may have to dip into some donation bags to make it through the week... I've only got about 3 pieces that will be weather appropriate (the majority are fancy knits reserved for the holiday season) so we'll see how this goes.

button down - Smart Set (summer 2010)
cropped trousers - Mexx (summer 2010)
heels - Aldo (summer 2010)

top - Joe Fresh (summer 2010)
skinny jeans - Smart Set (summer 2010)
heels - Spring (summer 2010)

Hope you're all having a fabulous and relaxing weekend!

I'm up to the Challenge!

So the weather channel predicted 27C and sunny today... yeah.. not gonna happen. Way to get my hopes up Mr. Weather Man!
Either way I'm thankful it's Friday. While I'm glad I've been busy, I could definitely use a break and a sleep-in.
Also! I've taken your advice, and next week will be my "Loved & Forgotten Challenge!" I'll be styling outfits around pieces that I fell in love with when I bought, but have been sitting in the back of the closet unworn, and despite my many purges, couldn't bear to part with them (I hope I have enough pieces!). So this weekend I'll catch up with the rest of my outfits from this week and start fresh Monday.
I have to say, I'm pretty excited! Would anyone care to join me in this challenge?

It's also Friend Friday courtesy of ModlyChic!

1. What do you think are some of the top fashion don’ts? Birkenstocks and socks! It took me a while, and I have come to admire the socks/strappy sandals combo and those brave enough to wear it, but please not with your birks.
Also, leggings/tights with tight shirts or tops that don't cover your hips/butt.... it's about proportion.. and honestly, I don't want to see your wedgies & camel toes.

2. What previous fashion don’t do you now wear with pride? Similar to ModlyChic, I love rocking the black and brown! White after labour day, and that whole "blue & green should never be seen"... blue and green look GREAT together!

3. Do you think there is a universal fashion do? Yes, universally flattering is playing with proportion: a fuller skirt, a slimmer top; skinny jeans, somethign with more volume/longer on top. Not everyone looks good in all baggy or all super fitted... unless of course you're a size 0. Then you can wear whatever you want.

4. What items lately, either recently in style or coming in now, do you think should never make it off the retail shelves? I'm actually partial to a lot of the fall trends. But you can see my above comment for my hate of people wearing tights as pants. NOT PANTS!

5. In your opinion, is there any blogger, fashion icon, celebrity who some how manages to pull off some fashion don’ts and still look good? Julia @ SongoftheExile can wear ANYTHING and look good. I swear, if you handed her an old tablecloth she'd find a way to rock it.
