This skirt was a Salvation Army find for $6. Love it, but not quite sure how to transition it into the spring because of the colour and the weight... any ideas?

Just a Generation Gap?
Whenever I mention the monotony of my job to anyone of an older generation I am met with the same response: all jobs are like that; repetitive and eventually boring, and there will inevitably be people you don’t like working with.
While I guess I can agree that I won’t always like all of my coworkers, it sort of depresses me to think that no matter what, I’m doomed to a life of ultimately hating my job.
Is it this generation that has the attention span of a goldfish, and therefore can’t put up with being bored all the time?
Is it our lack of work ethic? I know I didn’t have to till the fields in the hills of Italy like my grandmother, but I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge.
Am I being completely idealistic in thinking that there is actually a position out there that will keep me entertained for more than a year?
What are your jobs like, readers? Can you relate to the boredom, or have you found what fulfills you in life? How do you keep things fun and fresh in your professions?

Wearing a turtleneck is like being strangled by a really weak guy.

Ottawa Fashion Week F/W 11
I was only there for one of the 3 nights due to my busy schedule, but I loved every second of it. The evening started out with ElizBourk. Her esthetic was sportswear with a bit of a glam twist. I loved all the faux fur accents and little winter accessories. However I feel like the collection was almost better suited to a spring/summer show, had it not been for the colors chosen and the accessories. I don’t think I’ll be going bare legged and mini anytime next winter… this is Canada after all.
The following show was Serendipity by Kelsey McIntyre. Her 70s esthetic was so on trend with the Paris and New York shows. The midi skirts and how she translated the alpine sweater trend onto jersey dresses and blouses were right up my alley! Not to mention the adorable little owls, which made me want to buy that glorious skirt in every color.
She closed her show with a beautiful bridal gown done up in feathers, with a corseted back. If I were ever to consider a winter wedding, it would be an absolute dream to wear, maybe paired with a little lace stole?

I'm addicted to the way I feel when I think of you... too much green to feel blue.
Getting back in the dating game after being in a long term relationship is both exciting and scary.
Do I look okay? Does he think I’m laughing too much? Can he tell I’m nervous? Will I have unexplainable bouts of verbal diarrhea?
We take for granted the ease of conversation in an established relationship, but that like anything else will become easier once the initial “getting to know you” phase has passed. My evening was both awkward and awesome as Sydney would say. Awkward: the amount of gutterballs I rolled during the first game. Awesome: The way he smiled and laughed with me every time it happened. Awkward: Not knowing whether to high five or hug after an amazing strike. Awesome: Getting both. Awkward: Sitting with the elderly in the bowling alley lounge for lack of a better place to go. Awesome: Getting so lost in conversation you fail to notice the staff starting to close up around you. Awkward: First goodbyes. Awesome: An all too sweet goodbye kiss.
Here’s to many more awkward/awesome dates in my future. It's good to be back in the game. Whether this one works, or I get to have a few more firsts with someone new, I'm sure it will be quite the experience.

ruffles & lace
Have you ever noticed that the weekends you plan to do so much just fly by and nothing ever ends up being accomplished?
Yeah... laundry's not done, half of my clothes are still in boxes, and there are still clean dishes in the dishwasher from Friday.
But i did go to Winners and score this awesome lacy tank for $6.
Funny how our priorities get twisted, isn't it?
